MALINA MALINA can be described as subversive lo-fi pop – on their musical canvas ambient electronics, field recordings, noise and improvisation are intertwined with what is typical for pop music, deconstructing that genre at its core.

Their compositions maintain a balance between melodic, frantic, soothing and unforeseen; all dripped in a dense cinematic ambience.

Rowan Coupland

Freefolk – UK/Berlin

Rowan Coupland is a singer, harpist and guitarist.

English-born, but Berlin-based, he sings soaring and intricate modern folksongs filtered through noise, avant-garde poetry, and the sounds of snow falling through urban smog.

After establishing himself in Brighton’s indie-folk scene, and becoming a member of the influential Willkommen collective, he left the UK, eventually settling in Berlin, where he began to write songs of urban decay and regeneration, abandoned hospitals filled with Asbestos Ghosts and foxes, and the city night time.

Renata & sweetapple (DJ-Set)

sweetapple is the artist name of christopher weetapple, detroit, michigan native and long-time berlin resident and compulsive music archivist.
after years of commandeering the decks of friends’ afterparties, he began officially DJ at queer club nights throughout berlin in 2022.
always fitting his music to the scale of the audience before him, sweetapple relishes mixing absolutely new, hot-off-the-presses tracks with classics and obscurities.
his live sets wander around genre-space, but never haphazardly. narrative syncopation, wow moments, bangers and mash-ups.
since 2020, he has also maintained a wildly prolific soundcloud page with weekly mixes showcasing his style, range and taste.

Renata was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, right by the Atlantic Ocean. She started playing music in bars and friends’ parties in her hometown, but quit after advocating herself to cinema and photography in Berlin. Now she’s back, bringing people cinematic charm, funny beats, darky sessions blended with melodic house tracks and sassy high-pop rythms.
