KOY (Electronic Mermaid Witchcraft/Outer Space)
KOY is the solo project of Berlin-based composer and singer Victoria Trunova. Born in St. Petersburg (RUS) and raised in Germany, KOY has travelled between Berlin (GER), Helsinki (FI), Oslo (NO) and Bergen (NO). Along the way, KOY has collected musical traces that travel with her.
Inspired by both a wild mixture and complete denial of nationalities, KOY could never understand the need to bear an identity solely built on our genetic inheritance. Instead she aims to build a musical space where we can overcome these borders â to be able to feel âhomelessâ and just in the right place at the same time.

Machines hammering cold rock beats, guitars oscillating between catchy riffs and noisy saturation, and vocals that betray pop tendancies, Run Hither is an attempt at synthesizing Dan Deacon, Spacemen 3, and Buddy Holly.
