Sonny & the Dog, the conceptual guardians of songwriter Rhys Marshall’s (of Berlin-based band Fantuzzi and formerly Sour Janes) neurodivergent brain amounting in bad feelings, heartache and confusion; blended together with a healthy pinch of humour, sarcasm and nihilism to make what he aptly terms “Human Soup”. From the depths of depravity and disillusion comes something lighter in the form of down-tempo bedroom pop/anti folk – jangly guitars, dub-inspired bass rhythms, drum machines, vintage breakbeat samples and visceral lyrics.

With a genuine and unapologetic approach to musical expression, Sonny and his dog stand as the torchbearers for he who seeks solace in the bittersweet mundanity of urban life.
