Katharina Schmidt

experimental, drone, noise / Frankfurt am Main

Katharina Schmidt is a percussionist, composer, researcher and radio host.
A frequent collaborator, her artistic portfolio includes film music, sound art installations, and radio pieces as well as multichannel compositions.

After years of playing drums and piano in various bands, her solo work is influenced by indie, experimental, and improvised music.

Notable releases on Moon Villain, enmossed, Flag Day Recordings, Elm, Vertical Music, Midira and Slaapwel Records showcase a combination of electronics, field recordings, and self-built interfaces alongside acoustic instruments that has been called ‘profound’, ‘hyperreal’ (Field Notes) and ‘bucolic’ (Groove Magazine).

She has realised projects with DLF, WDR, and MaerzMusik, worked as a guest artist at ZKM, EMS, MONOM, and Sound Art Lab Struer, and taught at Humboldt University in Berlin.

Wild Anima

Ethereal Plant Synth Wave / Marseille

Alex Helene Alexopoulos (Wild Anima) is a sound artist, vocalist, and trained sound practitioner whose work channels the songs of the living world through voice, microtonal field recordings, and plant bio-sonification.

Inspired by Hildegard von Bingen’s concept of viriditas—the sacred, life-giving “greening power” of nature—her performance bridges mystic lineage and experimental electronic soundscapes.

Using plant music as an ambient sound oracle, she weaves ethereal vocal looping, bio-signals, and immersive textures into a deep listening experience.

For this re:natura set at Experimontag, she invites the audience into a resonant space of ecological awareness and sonic communion.
