Aurelio Kopainig

Solo guitar, improvisation, art, experimental / Berlin

Aurelio Kopainig is a multidisciplinary artist who lives in Berlin and sometimes in Buenos Aires.

He originally came from the visual arts, but for the past few years he has focused primarily on music, experimenting with the guitar, and on home-recording.

This fall he will release his first physical album on vinyl: »Wilde Skizzen«, recorded outdoors in Wilde/Buenos Aires.

Rendering Liturgies

Experimental – Portugal / Brasil

Rendering Liturgies is an ongoing series of performances developed as a collaboration between the artists Bruno De Marco and Pedro André.

Within this project, sound composition, atmospheric data, archival material, and site-specific substances converge into a series of ritualized protocols whose aim is to stage different attempts at communication with the atmosphere.

Throughout the performance, André’s practice functions as both mediator and interlocutor, as he weaves these different live and archival frequencies in and out in real time, modeling his sound approach on a methodology of dialogue between the atmosphere itself and its fictional counterpart — that is, the more-than-human entity Æther.

All the while, De Marco live-codes the incoming data from their BME688 atmospheric sensor, rebuilding its frequencies into synth nodes and noise, as a cryptically technical protocol is read aloud.

Breath Magnetic

Electroacoustic / experimental music / sound art – Berlin

Working through closely related approaches, Grgur Savic and Max Arsava dig into sound as a physical system in motion, using pneumatically transformed saxophones and magnetically manipulated cassette players.

Their musical desires are focused on vibration, resonance, pressure, friction and mechanical force, moving between subtle frequencies, unstable textures and dense noise.

Together, they look at sound as a physical process, where materials, instruments and magnetic forces interact in constantly shifting ways.

The DJ sets explore experimental electronic and instrumental ambient soundscapes from the 2000s, inspired by pioneering IDM, Dub, Glitch and Ambient artists like Autechre, Seefeel, Oval, Christian Fennesz and many more.

Blending these styles with contemporary avant-garde electronic music from Africa and the Arab World, SurfSolaire creates a surreal atmosphere featuring hypnotic, haunting textures and intricate rhythms.
