Working under the moniker Drekka since 1996, composer Michael Anderson has spent the last thirty years touring, traveling, and collaborating extensively. Drekka has released a large body of work on labels such as Auris Apothecary, Dais, Morc, etc, as well as on Anderson’s own label, Bluesanct.

Anderson is also a member of Tremble With Joy (collab w/ Cindytalk+Drekka) and Water is the Sun (collab w/ Timber Rattle+Drekka), as well as been a member of lovesliescrushing, In Gowan Ring, Turn Pale, and many other diverse projects.

Drekka find kinship in the soundscapes and non-linear impressionism of Cindytalk or Coil. But his work is singular, unique, and very personal. Anderson’s work dwells heavily on themes of silence, memory, and forgetfulness; functioning as a direct line to the mind and its tenuous cache of memories.

Drekka live performances are spontaneous and tailored to the evening, the audience, and the space. The performances utilize primarily live voice and cassette manipulation of recordings sourced from Drekka’s archive; collaged on the spot using a voice, a mixer, customized tape decks, and contact microphones.

B°TONG is Chris Sigdell, based in Switzerland, the Swedish musician melts the boundaries between ambient electronics and musique concréte.

He calls it hostile soundscapes.

B°TONG has played alongside such diverse artists as Bohren & der Club of Gore, Jozef van Wissem, Puce Mary, Zbigniew Karkowski, Robert Rich, etc. Festivals include: Wroclaw Industrial Festival, Norberg Festivalen, Temple Of Silence.

Zimmermann / Lienhard

drone, ambient – Zürich/Berlin

Deep droning sounds, standing tones, fine melodies and virtuoso passages.

The accordion and Pablos electronics are more similar than they seem.

Although the sound production of their instruments is so different, Tizia Zimmermann and Pablo Lienhard try to dissolve the boundaries of acoustically and electronically produced sounds and approach each other improvisationally.

Sometimes they merge into one, sometimes the duo lets the worlds collide.
